One crisp fall day I was making homemade apple cider from the apples in my orchard and watching one of my favorite childhood movies Anne of Green Gables. One of my favorite seens is where Diana drinks the raspberry cordial instead of juice and I got the amazing idea to make caramel apple cordial.
- 4 C Apple cider (you can buy or make)
- 1/2 C Sugar
- 2 T Water
- 1 1/3 C Whipped cream vodka
- 1 C vodka
In a pan at medium high heat throw your sugar and 2 T of water. This is the caramel step of caramel apple cordial. There is a debate whether or not it is ok to stir your sugar while it turns to caramel or let it sit. honestly I have done both and it didn’t seem to matter much. So either stir or don’t stir until it turns to a soft copper color.
Once it gets to that nice copper color add your apple cider to the pan. You want to reduce the 4 C of apple cider to about 2 C of super condensed apple cider. Take the cider off the heat and let cool. Once it is to room temp add your vodka in.
