Now typically cheese doesn’t go with most things sea food or so they say!!! I tend to like a little cheese sauce with my fish or shrimp. But an amazing substitute is a holidays sauce.
- 1 1/2 C Shrimp (cocktail or salad)
- 2 English muffins or bagels (4 halves)
- 1 C Whole milk
- 1 T Flour
- 2 T Cream Cheese
- 1/4 C Mozzarella cheese
- 1 Diced fresh small tomato
- 1 T Butter
- 2 Pinches of nutmeg
- Pinch of pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 t Dried dill or 2 t fresh
- 2 Minced garlic cloves
Place the butter in a sauce pan, and once it melts add the T of flour. Stir the flour around for a couple of minutes and add the milk. Whisk the milk and flour together, and add all the spices, dill and garlic. Once the milk starts bubbling, add in the cream cheese and the cheese. Continue to whisk and taste for need for salt. Throw in the diced tomato, and whisk for another minute.
Throw your english muffins or bagels under the broiler or in a toaster.
I like to rinse my shrimp, place on a paper towel to inspect that they are clean and absorb excess water.
On your toasted bread place the shrimp, and then drizzle with the cream sauce.
