- 10 Slices of bread of choice
- 8 oz Gouda cheese
- Pepper (pinch for each sandwich)
- 5 Thick slices of good quality ham (I used 5 good slices of spiraled ham)
- 4 Eggs
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 T Butter
Beat the eggs and milk together just like you would when making normal french toast and dip 5 slices of bread in the custard. Place the bread on the buttered skillet that is on low heat. Next goes the grated gouda, then the ham, and finally sprinkle the pepper.
Final step is dipping the last 5 pieces of bread to top the sandwich. Put a lid on top and let the babies cook on low. Make sure the bottom doesn’t burn. Once the bottoms are brown flip and do the same for the other side.
And there you go. It’s done!!
